| About The Commssioner Woody Thompson is a licensed real estate broker for Thompson Realty Advisors, LLC. He served as District 4 commissioner from 1997 to 2004. Thompson has also been active in numerous business and civic organizations, including the Cobb Convention and Visitors Bureau, Cobb County Planning and Zoning Commission, Powder Springs Downtown Development Authority and serving as director of Cobb Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, director of Cobb Boys Club Board of Directors, unit board director and project chairman for American Cancer Society, current board member of Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Metro Atlanta and immediate past president of South Cobb Business Association. He holds a bachelors degree in business administration from West Georgia College and is a graduate of the Realtors Institute. Thompson is also a graduate of Leadership Cobb and the Regional Leadership Institute. As a district commissioner, he completed the Certified County Commissioner program in 2000 and the Advanced Commissioner program in 2003. Thompson is married with two adult children and is an elder and immediate past chairman of the board of Southwest Christian Church. District Four (Southwest Cobb) is enjoying tremendous residential and commercial growth, thanks in part to major road corridor projects such as the $51 million East-West Connector. This district is convenient to two airports - Hartsfield International and Fulton County Airport-Brown Field. |
