“Planting for a Greener Cobb!”
Roots

The Cobb Trees Program is a branch of Keep Cobb Beautiful, Inc. that was founded Tuesday, October 24, 2000. The first planting, December 2, 2000, occurred at Kennworth Park in northern Cobb County where 24 trees were planted by the group of eager volunteers. To date, the program has provided nearly 5,000 trees to help beautify and enhance the quality of life for all Cobb County residents.

The Cobb Trees program provides education activities, contests, public plantings, mulching and upkeep activities, tree dedications, tree adoptions, arbor workshops, and other activities for residents of Cobb.

The program is fully endorsed by Cobb County Manager, Mr. David Hankerson , Board Of Commissioners Chairman Tim Lee and Commissioners Helen Goreham, Woody Thompson, Jo Ann Birrell and Bob Ott.

It is also a partnership between several Cobb County departments such as Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, the Department of Transportation, Community Development, Property Management, and the Cobb County Extension Service.

In addition to county agencies and departments Cobb Trees works closely with the Georgia Forestry Commission, and the Cobb County School District. Much of our trees, materials and refreshments are generously donated by area businesses that are supportive of our “green” efforts.
