Traffic Violations Bureau

TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS BUREAU (T.V.B.) cases are minor driving offenses that occur in unincorporated Cobb County in which the violator has the option of posting a bond (paying a fine) in lieu of a court appearance. Violations are determined to be payable and fines set by the Judges of this court in accordance with applicable state laws. The Traffic Violations Bureau Bond Order   sets out these payable violations and applicable fines. When required by state law, dispositions on Traffic Violations Bureau tickets are submitted to the Department of Driver Services (DDS).



It takes approximately ten (10) working days from the date a citation is issued before information is available through the State Court Clerk’s Office. Once a citation is received and processed a courtesy notice is mailed to the address on the citation. General information as to the status of a citation (whether a citation is payable or requires a court appearance) may be obtained by calling the Traffic Violations Bureau. An automated information line may be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at, (770) 528-2660. Fines may also be queried by accessing the State Court Clerk's Office online ticket payment site.

All pleas of not guilty are accepted on the court date that was set by the officer when the citation was issued (shown on the face of the citation). If a not guilty plea is entered at this hearing, the trial will be scheduled for a future date.

Failure to Appear: $65.00 Fee Failure to appear may result in a bench warrant being issued and/or a license suspension being issued.



Personal or business checks will not be accepted. Payable citations may be paid via the Internet by accessing the Clerk's Office online ticket payment site. Citations may also be paid in person with cash, money order, cashier’s check, Master Card or Visa or by mail with money order or cashier’s check. If paying in person by credit card, the cardholder must be present to sign the charge slip. All payments that are mailed should be sent to: Traffic Violations Bureau, 12 East Park Square, Marietta, GA 30090-9632. When paying in person, for faster, more efficient service and to avoid peak hours you may want to appear after 11:00 a.m.



It is the defendant’s responsibility to notify the Court in writing of any change of address. Failure to do so could result in not receiving notification of a court date change, which could result in a bench warrant or license suspension being issued for failure to appear.
