Two convenient Government Service Centers exist to bring service closer to county residents. In each center, innovative Business Offices allow the county's customers to transact business or receive information about services. Both centers also contain full service Tag Offices.

Q: Where can I get a non-privileged Cobb County business license?
A: Non-privileged Cobb County Business License applications are available at the South Cobb and East Cobb Business Offices, in addition to the main Business License Office at 1150 Powder Springs St., Suite 400, Marietta, Ga. 30064. Privileged business licenses applications are available only at the main Business License office.Q: I need to get a document notarized. Where can I get this done?
Applicants with business addresses inside the city limits of the Acworth, Austell, Kennesaw, Marietta, Powder Springs and Smyrna should contact their respective city government business license offices.
A: Government Service Center Business Offices have Notary Publics on staff. There is no charge for this service.Q: Where can I get an emission waiver?
A: Emission waivers for students are available in Cobb County at the Georgia Clean Air Force, 2141 Kingston Ct., Marietta, GA. Senior citizen emission waivers are available at tag offices. A: Both Business Offices receive numerous up-to-date brochures and printed materials relating to Cobb County. Some of the more frequently requested publications are Tag Facts, Tax Facts, Extension Service brochures; voter registration applications; absentee ballot requests; business license brochures; library information. Information included in some brochures is also available online.Q: Are community meeting rooms available?
A: Yes, community meeting rooms are available for non-profit groups. Rooms may be reserved up to three months in advance of scheduled meeting dates. A signed room reservation contract is required along with a refundable deposit. Contact the appropriate Business Office for more information.Q: Where can I get income tax forms?
A: Business Offices have standard Federal and State forms available after January l. Many reproducible forms are also available throughout the year.Q: How do I file a Homestead Exemption?
A: If you own, occupy and claim your home as your legal residence on January 1st, you are eligible for a Homestead Exemption. Additional exemptions are available to those who meet legal criteria. You may apply for exemptions year-round with the Tax Commissioner’s Office, however your application must be received or postmarked by April 1st to receive the exemption for that tax year. Applications not filed by the deadline constitute a waiver of the exemption for that year. All exemptions must be applied for by mail or in person.
