Finance Department

MISSION STATEMENT

The Finance Department oversees the financial operations and risk management services of Cobb County operating under established management principles and adhering to established policies,procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to protect the integrity of Cobb County’s assets and maintain superior bond ratings.

 The areas of responsibility of our department include:
• Maintaining and administering the County’s financial records in conformance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Payroll administration
• Manage debt issuance and monitoring
• Long-range financial planning
• Vendor payments and maintenance within the financial system
• Federal government regulatory reporting
• Maintaining property and inventory records
• Grant accounting
• Administering safety & liability programs & claims management (Risk Management)
• Maintain the County’s cash and investments
• Prepare and administer the annual budget
• Bank reconciliations
